Funded MSc or PhD position for domestic (Canadian/Permanent Resident) students - to start September 2018
Dr. Jinfei Wang (email@example.com) is currently recruiting for domestic students to work on a project that aims to use UAV imagery for crop disease detection, starting September 2018. The student will be co-supervised by Dr. Jinfei Wang (UWO) and Dr. Brigitte Leblon (UNB). The position is funded by an industry partner located in London, ON. The student will be expected to travel from time to time to UNB and the industry partner. Eligible Candidates:
- should have successfully completed a BSc or MSc degree and have a strong background in phytopathology or agronomy;
- will have a strong ability to data analysis, as well as good writing and oral skills;
- displaying research experience, as documented in peer-reviewed publications, will be an asset;
- must be Canadian or Permanent Resident of Canada.
- Algorithms for automatic linear and other man-made feature detection from images
- Methods for GIS feature extraction and lane use/cover change detection in urban environment using multispectral and hyperspectral data
- Methods for object oriented information extraction from high resolution remotely sensed imagery
- Applications of radar/optical remote sensing and GIS for environmental change analysis near large rivers/mountains and in marsh and mangrove wetlands
