Geography 3000Y Field Methods & Practices (aka Field Camp)

How to Register

 

Field camp is mandatory for all students registered in an Honors Specialization module (Geography BA and BSc, GIS BA and BSc, and Urban Development modules) and optional for students majoring in Geography (Geography, Physical Geography, and GIS majors).

Registration is different for Honors and for Majors students

Honors Students:

  1. Register through Student Centre. The system works on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are unable to obtain a spot in the field camp of your first choice, select another section.
  2. Tuesday September 6th we are opening the registration for major students; please make sure you register before this date to secure your spot
  3. Tuesday September 13th payment deadline; if you have not paid by this date you may be removed from the course

Major Students:

  1. Send a message to Angelica Lucaci alucaci@uwo.ca to declare your interest in participating in the course, ranking your choice of sections; your name will be added to a pool from which a waiting list will be created in order of academic performance in the previous year and in your geography module  
  2. Tuesday September 6th eligible students from the waiting list will be informed so that they can register in the course (not online); if you do not register by September 13th you lose your spot
  3. Tuesday September 13th payment deadline; if you have not paid by this date you may be removed from the course

The department reserves the right to cancel sections if there is insufficient registration. In this event, you will be notified and placed in a suitable alternative.

Please do not approach section professors to switch. You will need to contact Angelica Lucaci, the Undergraduate Program Advisor. There normally are very few switches from section to section -- in many cases, accommodations will have been booked based on male/female numbers and switches will be difficult.
