Research Areas

Historic and collective memory on the spatial and dialogical analysis of landscape.

Research Interests

The main thrust of my research is about the significance of historical and collective memory on the spatial and dialogical analysis of landscape. My graduate course at the Centre for the Study of Theory and Criticism (9597b) expounds on a range of memory theories applied to political, cultural and social landscapes.

My interest on memory is reflected in the archival research I have undertaken in the last several years about the consequences and effects of 40 years of dictatorship on Spain’s cultural and natural landscape. Additionally, I look at the ways in which different versions of history on the Spanish Civil War and its aftermath are inscribed in the popular (newspapers, internet) and academic output.
